Giftcards
This guide explains how to set up and use gift cards within Bookified. It highlights the benefits of offering gift cards, such as enhancing customer engagement, providing flexible payment options, and encouraging repeat visits. The guide also covers the steps to set up a gift card, including assigning a unique code, setting the monetary value, applying location and service filters, and tracking usage history.
- Navigate to the Giftcards menu to see a complete list of all gift cards (if any exists).
Creating a Gift card
- To create a new gift card for your service, click on the ‘+ Add Giftcard’ button located at the top right side. This action will trigger a slide-in popup, which contains several fields that need to be filled out.
Code: Assign a unique code for the Gift card. This code should be given to only one customer. When used, the service fee will be deducted from the Gift card’s balance.
Amount: Set the monetary value for the Gift card. This value represents the total balance available on the Gift card.
Location Filter: Select a specific location if you want the Gift card to be valid only for services offered at that location.
Services Filter: Choose a specific service if you want the Gift card to be applicable solely to that service.
Staff Filter: If you want the Gift card to be used for services provided by a particular staff member, select the appropriate staff.
Usage History

View the usage history of each gift card by clicking on the ‘paper roll’ icon to track who used it and for which appointments.
Editing & Deleting Gift Cards
- Edit or delete gift cards by clicking the corresponding options next to each gift card, followed by ‘Edit’ or ‘Delete’. Bulk delete options are available by selecting multiple gift cards which will trigger a bottom banner to appear. From there, select ‘delete’ from the dropdown menu and then click ‘apply’ to confirm and execute.
Important Notice Regarding Gift Cards:
When generating a gift card from the system, please ensure that the value of the gift card matches exactly with the total cost of the service you wish for the customer to use. This total should include any applicable taxes.
Please note that any remaining balance on the gift card cannot be used for future transactions. This is why it’s crucial to set the gift card amount to match the exact cost of the service, including taxes.
